Haemonetics Corp.">

Company Description:
Haemonetics, a medical device company, is the world's leading supplier of automated blood processing equipment which can increase the safety, quality, and availability of blood. It makes products (Cell Saver®) which allow for saving blood lost during surgery so that a patient can get back the safest blood possible, his or her own. Haemonetics also makes products (MCS®+)which automate the collection of blood components from blood donors, which is an opportunity for increasing blood availability worldwide. Automated collection of blood is called "apheresis." During an apheresis procedure, a qualified volunteer blood donor donates specific blood components to better serve the needs of the patient. Blood is collected in a sterile disposable kit which is used for only one donor, and then discarded. This separation process is more accurate than traditional whole blood collection. Apheresis also allows for the collection of one or two complete units of blood components.
