    Take Action
Diabetes increases your risk of a variety of diseases, including oral health problems such as gum disease, cavities, and infection. Take extra care of your mouth:

  • Brush your teeth at least twice per day, preferably after mealtime.
  • Floss every day.
  • Visit the dentist twice a year, and discuss your diabetes with him or her.
  • Make an appointment with your dentist if you notice any bleeding, pain, or other changes.
