Symptoms
Symptoms of frostbite include pain and numbness in the affected area, and possibly a prickly sensation on the skin. In mild frostbite, the skin will look whitened, and feel firm to the touch; there may also be blistering and peeling on the surface of the skin. In severe frostbite, the skin will feel hard and have a glossy look to it. The color may vary from a yellow to a grayish blue. In most serious cases, the skin may turn black, and be cold and hard to the touch.
