Symptoms of cirrhosis include:
- Weakness, fatigue
- Weight loss
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Jaundice (yellow coloration of the skin and eyes)
- Dark urine
- Bloody, black stools or unusually light-colored stools
- Abnormal menstrual period
- Swollen feet or legs
- Fitful sleep
- Enlarged breasts in men
- Loss of sex drive
- Spiderlike blood vessels under the skin
- Itchy skin
Symptoms of cirrhosis may not appear until the disease has reached the late stages. It is important to consult a doctor as soon as symptoms appear.
