Symptoms of CTS include:
- Numbness or painful tingling feeling in the fingers
- Sensation of burning in the fingers
- Uselessness of fingers, marked by a difficulty in small motor tasks
- Difficulty in grasping an object or making a fist
- Occasional inability to feel hot or cold
- Feeling of swelling or stiffness in the fingers
- Loss of strength or flexibility
Often times, the first symptoms of CTS occur at night, and can be painful enough to interrupt sleep patterns.
