  • Peripheral Vascular Disease

    Symptoms
Atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, restricts the blood flow wherever the hardening is located. If it occurs in the legs, movement or exercise might cause pain. However, the pain will subside as soon as you rest. You also might experience severe fatigue and a tightening in the muscles. In severe cases, the feet and toes might hurt even when you are resting. Other sensations may be numbness, tingling or cramping. Skin may appear slightly discolored, or may feel cool to the touch. Some patients experience impotence, or sores that will not heal.
