INSIDE MEDTECH1: About Us

History

MedTech1.com, the leading site on the Internet for information about health care solutions and medical technologies, is the result of a partnership between the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and Body1, Inc. The partnership was established with the goal of making information available to health care consumers and medical professionals about the value and benefits of medical technology in saving and improving lives and in helping to control the costs of health care.

Body1, Inc. is the leading developer of deep, rich content e-health communities known as Knowledge Cooperatives (KnowCo's). The founders of Body1, Inc. created it to bring health and wellness information that previously was unavailable to those who needed it most. Friends who searched to find answers to health challenges using the Internet have provided the inspiration for this and other Body1, Inc. sites. Body1, Inc.'s genesis is in searches ranging from possible therapies for a friend's father's brain cancer, to options for a child born with genetic dwarfism, to nutrients to stimulate mental alertness.

AdvaMed is the largest medical technology trade association in the world, supported by more than 800 medical device, diagnostic products and health information systems manufacturers of all sizes. AdvaMed is the only medical technology association that operates globally to promote a legal, regulatory and economic climate that advances health care by assuring worldwide patient access to the benefits of medical technology.
